Join us for a two part class – Stitching with Sandy Barber.

Beginners welcome.

Participants will learn many basic hand sewing and embroidery skills while completing a denim patch. Sandy will teach running stitch, back stitch, blanket stitch, chain stitch and possibly other stitches.

The project will be creating a patch by stitching a fabric word on a denim backing.  (See example photos on this page.) Participants can choose their own word, preferably only 3-5 letters long.  In the first class, we will discuss options for utilizing the patch.  During the second class, participants can choose to bring a shirt, jacket, tote bag, etc. in which they can attach their patch or work on how to finish their piece to make it suitable for framing, putting on the cover of a junk journal, etc. Participants will likely need to do some stitching at home, in between the two classes.

While this class is designed for adults, teens 15 and older are welcome to take this class too.  Youth ages 12-14 are invited to attend too, if accompanied by a responsible adult who will also be taking the class.

All supplies and tools will be provided.  Optional to bring your own fabric, needles, thread, fabric scissors and embroidery scissors.

This class will meet twice:
