Make a Reverse Applique T-Shirt which looks like Stained Glass with Marla
This is fun way to dress up t-shirts so they don’t look “ordinary.” In addition to creating the Mandala pattern for the class. Marla will email out a copy of the other patterns she currently has. They include several other mandala patterns, a heart, a cat, two butterflies, an owl, a Christmas Tree, and the word Joy.
Thursday, December 17
1-4 pm
200 W 5th in Bonham
Cost:
- $30 for Members
- $35 for Non-Members
What to Bring:
- T-shirt
- 1 ft. square of complementary color cotton fabric (we will also have a variety of fabrics to choose from)
- Four large safety pins
- Ink pen or pencil or even better – a fabric pencil that disappears when washed.
- Sewing machine
- Small sharp pointed scissors for cutting out the pattern
- Pinking scissors (we will also have at least one pair that can be used)
- Thread. (Marla often uses white on all t-shirt colors, but other complementary colors of thread may be used. She does not recommend using the same color as the t-shirt because the pattern loses the accent.). (ex: She has used yellow on orange t-shirt with yellow patterned fabric behind, dark green on lime t-shirt with dark green patterned fabric.)

- 1’ square of water-soluble embroidery interfacing
- Pattern for Mandala T-shirt
- About a six” pre-sewn piece for learning to cut pattern
- Written instructions
- Emailed other patterns as desired
Art Center will provide:
