About the Instructor

Michelle began dancing at the age of three and fell in love with ballet. As a teen she was introduced
to Belly Dance, East Coast Swing, and later Flamenco. Belly Dance soon became her favorite and she
is a former member of Tribal Evolution and Pocket Tribal dance troupes.

Beginner Belly Dance Workshop

Workshop description:
You want to try belly dancing, but you don’t know where to start. Your weeknights are too hectic to join a class. When you try a Youtube/Tik Tok lesson, you’re not sure if you’ve got it and you’d really like some feedback. A one-day, beginner belly dance workshop is the taste of belly dance you’ve been looking for! We will work through a sampler platter of belly dance moves, work up a sweat and have lots of fun! If you’re new to belly dance, this will be an introduction to basic moves. If you’ve taken classes before, this will be a chance to hone your technique with lots of repetition. We will finish with combinations that build to a short choreography. Come show your dance skills or simply “follow the bouncing butt” to some uplifting beats. Jump in and dance with us!

What should you wear?
Regular workout gear! Comfortable shoes, leggings or yoga pants and tanks or T-shirts are welcome. A rainbow of hip scarves are available for class use. This is a low-impact class suitable for all body types.
