Sandy Barber

Sandy Barber stepped into the role of Director of the Creative Arts Center in January 2024, bringing with her over 32 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, including 22 years as Executive Director of the Fannin County Children’s Center. While many knew her for her dedication to helping young people from hard places, few realized she also had a deeply creative side.

Since joining the Creative Arts Center, Sandy’s artistic side has truly blossomed, and she now proudly embraces the title of artist. She enjoys exploring various mediums, with favorites including watercolor, acrylic, neurographic art, mixed media, cross-stitch, embroidery, slow stitching, and junk journaling. She has also discovered a love for visible mending, basket weaving, creating garden charms, and designing bracelets.

In addition to hands-on art, Sandy dabbles in graphic design, offering her unique designs as stickers on her Redbubble page. She has a passion for repurposing materials, turning everyday objects into meaningful, one-of-a-kind creations. Her work often reflects themes of peace, love, and harmony, blending artistic expression with a message of connection and positivity.
