The Creative Arts Center is pleased to announce that the annual Red River Arts Fest will take place next weekend in downtown Bonham, offering a vibrant lineup of family-friendly activities, local art, live entertainment, and community engagement.
Festivities begin on Friday, May 1, with a special Meet & Greet at Neighbors Place Winery from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to meet talented Plein Air painters from across North Texas as they create artwork on-site. Attendees can enjoy an evening of art alongside food, wine, and beer in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
On Saturday, May 2, the celebration expands throughout downtown Bonham:
- Art & Farmers Markets will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. outside the Creative Arts Center, featuring local artists, makers, and fresh goods.
- Plein Air Painters will be working throughout the area from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering visitors a chance to watch art come to life in real time.
- Heritage Days festivities will take place around the downtown square from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., including shopping, live music, a car show, 5k run, courthouse tours and additional attractions for all ages.
The day will culminate with the Opening Reception, Awards Ceremony, and Live Art Auction beginning at 5:00 p.m. inside the Creative Arts Center. This signature event highlights the work created during the festival and celebrates participating artists. There will be $1700 worth of cash prizes awarded to winning artists. Art lovers and collectors will have a chance to bid in the live auction for a chance to take home one-of-a-kind artwork, depicting scenes from in and around Bonham.
The Red River Arts Fest is a cornerstone event for the community, showcasing regional talent while fostering appreciation for the arts in a fun, inclusive environment. The Creative Arts Center is a nonprofit art center started 25 years ago in Bonham. The center is located at 200 W 5th in Bonham.
